Answers to your commonly asked questions
-
Can you hold a place before I apply?
No. We cannot “hold” properties due to high demand. A property is not considered rented until a lease has been signed and a security deposit paid, and a tenant has completed the move-in process. If your application has been approved, you will receive an Approval Letter with all the important next steps leading up to your move in. -
Do I pay first month’s rent and last month’s rent with my security deposit?
No. We only require 1st month's rent (due at the time of move in) and a full security deposit, paid within 48 hours of application approval. The security deposit is refundable up to 72 hours after receipt. -
How old do you have to be to apply?
You are required to be 18 years of age. -
Is the deposit refundable?
Yes. Less damages above normal wear and tear and any outstanding unpaid balances on your account. -
Who needs a cosigner?
This depends. You may not need a cosigner if you qualify for the property on your own. -
You have a property I want to rent. How do I apply?
You must first view the property in person, using our self-guided tour process. After the showing, you must notify our office that you would like to be sent the application link, which will be sent via text and email. -
How do I pay rent?
You can pay online with ACH (checking/savings), with a credit card or you can mail in your rent with a cashiers check or money order to our Goldsboro office. -
I want to get a pet. What do I do?
Not all properties accept pets. You will need to first get permission from your property manager, who may in turn need to contact the owner for special permission. If accepted, you will be required to screen your pet, there is a non-refundable pet fee, per pet, and you will be asked for vaccination records, photos and references during the pet screening process. -
I want to move out, but my roommate wants to stay. What do I do?
You need to contact your property manager immediately to understand the next steps and if this is possible. -
My lease expiration is coming and I want to move out. What do I do?
You must submit a request online through your portal. Per lease terms, a 30 day notice is typically required. -
Who is responsible for paying for repairs & maintenance requests?
This depends. Not all requests will be accommodated if they are not considered urgent or life threatening. Most will require the approval of the owner. And some repairs will be at the tenants expense if the damage or repair was caused by neglect.
